bleedsopretty for the Daily Deviation. It's kind of surreal feeling.
I also want to thank everyone who gave me their translation of the German text on the WWI postcard. It makes the story even more amazing, and it truly touched my heart that you all took the time to do it.
Thank you and welcome. I think I'll be scanning in a whole lot more today!

Madames et monsieurs:
Like old documents? So do I. At estate sales, antique shops, even on the street, I stop and take a look at any gross, grungy piece of paper or book that happens to catch my eye--and believe me, they all do. I used to work in the archives at a museum and so for years the dusty, mouldy papers were my best friends, and I always had the intention of using their images in my art. Actually, the old paper look is all the rage in the land of Digital Art, and I'm here to make my contribution.
Please feel free to use these images however, wherever, for whatever you like
UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. Commercial and print use is fine. All that I ask is that you credit me (
MANDATORY on dA or I will report you, flexible elsewhere because I know that listing resources is not always convenient on, say, a web layout) and send me a link (also
mandatory by note or deviation comment, please) to the finished product.
My big concern here is that these images will be useful to at least one artist out there. I'm not out for popularity--I use a lot of stock in my own art and want to contribute to the community and feel the sense of pride that comes along with collaboration. It's a beautiful thing, people.
Enjoy your stay and go make some art!

And I used to work in a museum, so I'm a packrat and know how to properly preserve objects and documents.
